I went exploring kitchens today. I suppose because I am desperatley trying to add life to the drab galley apartment kitchen that we have. No storage!!! Less than 3 ft of counter space which is divided by a sink. I'll have to post a picture just to let you see. I have two chrome wire shelves that flank my refridgerator that I have been wanting to make a skirt for to cover the bottom two shelves of each to get rid of some of the clutter. I found fabric that I love @ Joannes. But at $8.99 a yd (I need about 6 yds) I am not about to get it. Today I was at Ross and found these adorable table runners ($2.99, I bought 3). They are a tan linen with squares made out of embroidered dots in mustard, turquoise, olive and chocolate. Then I got a queen size sheet set that goes with the linen ($9.99). Now I just have to get Marie to sew them for me! Yes yes I know, I could just do it myself but you see, if I get her to make them then I get to spend time with her :) So with kitchen on the brain I went surfing and this is what I dreamed up today.

Now if I just had a house to have a kitchen like these.

Burlap by the sea

I have a thrift store dresser in my bedroom that is the perfect width for a narrow wall in my bedroom. Besides wanting to redo it, I have been looking for ways to snaz it up but nothing seemed to work for the casual coastal chic feel I was looking for and then I found this......

It's casual, it's chic, and it works in the succulents that I love, but burlap in a coastal room? Sure it's sand colored, it adds a beach grass like texture to the room. I would have never thought of a runner on a dresser....what an awesome idea! I was warming up to the idea, but not completley sold until Layla @ The Lettered Cottage posted these......

These adorable little fish come from Grace's Etsy Shop. Go over and check her out!

I also love these coasters by Grace , I just don't think I could dare put a drink on them

The best part of this is Layla is having a Coastline Giveaway, and you know I love something for free.

Now I am thinking I should check the price of burlap and make some curtains.
